The whole and its parts

Holding Tension

Tension is something we experience continuously. It comes in all colors and flavors.

It can be one between not knowing and knowing, daring or not daring, seeing and denying or wanting and refusing.

It can also be one which is linked to others, where we hope for reactions and try to trigger them, where we see how others act and have to decide if we react or not.

There is no standard answer to it.

What we know though, is that we have a choice.

Tension is the space in which our greatest power lies, it is the space between stimulus and response.

Or as Stephen R. Covey said it “Between stimulus and response is our greatest power—the freedom to choose.”
