The whole and its parts

The whole & its parts

The will to lead

There is a difference between the wish to see something happen and the will to make it happen.

The difference isn’t that in one case it may or may not be successful. It’s perfectly possible that when you take the leads something might not work out. Just as much as it is possible that nothing will happen if there is only a wish to see something happen. The point is, that the will to make it happen is giving it the best chance to happen.

The will to make it happen means to be willing to show up and take responsibility for the action to make it happen.

“We should meet one of these days.” only goes as far as to say that a meeting could happen. Is it even an action?

“Can I come back to you to find a meeting date for us?” Is a different story. Can you see it?

The will to lead goes further. It involves the will to act and the willingness to take responsibility for the consequences. It also involves the one who is asked to follow.

Sometimes it’s words.
