Learning to lead

A very simple question a leader has to ask is “did it work?”

Whatever the answer, the question has been useful.

Someone serious about wanting to lead asks that question and builds on it with “what’s next?”

However, a leader can only influence the system within which their actions take place, most often they do it by trying to influence others. They are responsible for their interventions and how these shape the circumstances within which results are achieved. They better not make the error to assume that they are responsible for the achieved result.

Someone who wants to learn to lead digs into the outcome. They compare their intention with the outcome and more specifically the outcome their own interventions created.
