Teams often have a star. That person can have one or a multitude of attributes others are seeking out. For some, it is the person who cares. For others, it is the person who knows. And in other cases, it is the person who always seems to have it.
That person becomes the go-to person. It is someone who is sought out by others. That is by those who look for someone to admire and thus for someone that seems to have the magical ability to protect them and to strengthen the team.
Any time such a person appears in a team, an implicit hierarchy appears. The team knows whom they have to ask for support whenever that support can’t be found in the official or explicit hierarchy.
