The whole and its parts

The whole & its parts

Go First

A, sometimes, lost skill is to go first.

Toddlers do that. They somehow decide that walking is what they want to learn, and they keep at it. It doesn’t matter how they feel or if it works. They keep at it.

There is discomfort in falling and having to get up again.

There is discomfort in not knowing how an objective will be achieved and if it can be achieved.

While discomfort might be important information and a useful reason to slow down or avoid acting, it isn’t a reason in itself to do so.

Results can’t happen before starting.

Golf players can’t wait to play well to feel well.

Leaders can’t wait to lead well to feel well.

An alternative is to feel well to lead well.

It’s how to go first.
