The whole and its parts

The whole & its parts

The glue

Teams come together to achieve something together.

By coming together they create an environment within which the work will happen and intuitively establish some structure that eases the work to happen.

The glue that keeps the team together and allows them to do what they have come for is the collection of activities and events that contribute to making relationships and tasks come together as a whole as well as those that ease the transition between addressing relationships and tasks.

Depending on the team’s style there will be a more process-oriented type of structure or one that focuses on the bigger picture of the outcome.

There is no right or wrong there, it’s simply different ways of becoming effective as a team.

However, what makes the team effective is knowing the kind of glue that the team needs. It changes depending on the structure and environment the team has chosen.
