The whole and its parts

Seeking the truth

The areas in which we can find the truth are rare.

This is especially true if you assume something you’ve considered a truth will never change.

This doesn’t mean it is impossible to know the truth on some occasions or temporarily.

However, in most cases, knowing something only describes a part of the story. There is a high probability that zooming in or out will add elements to what has been known as the truth until then. Just as time can change whatever we believe to be a truth.

Maybe seeking the truth isn’t as helpful as searching for trust.

Trusting means that one knows that there is a risk of being disappointed. Accepting this risk means believing that there are more elements in favor of taking the risk than in fearing disappointment.

This is true for trusting oneself, others, the situation, and the truth.

Its drawback is that it lacks the magic of knowing we long for.
