It can just as well be standing up to one’s values.

Whenever our values are important to us, we position ourselves. Thus, our position will be in disagreement with other people’s positions.

Disagreement in positions doesn’t automatically lead to judgment, nor is it an invitation to leave the other standing where they are standing. There is value in being curious about the other person’s position as well as the judgment they used leading to the chosen position.
