Duality of certainty and uncertainty

One may argue that certainty isn’t attainable.

But is it the point?

And what is it that invites resistance when uncertainty appears?

Uncertainty and certainty are two sides of the same coin.

Whenever such duality appears, we’ll see that individuals have a preference for one or the other. It’s either a focus on a desire for certainty or on an uncertainty that has to be overcome.

None of both are wrong. But neither of them is useful.

Whatever the uncertainty is about, there will not be anything one can become certain about that will resolve the uncertainty. Whatever one tries to be certain of will be confronted with some uncertainty.

That is within the nature of things. And it’s focusing on the wrong problem.

The relevant problem is our ability to focus on what certainty and uncertainty relate to. It’s choosing one’s objective, staying in control of one’s action, remaining aware of the certainty that there is a possibility that it works, and accepting that uncertainty qualifies the circumstances.
