Steve Jobs is supposed to have shared the following: “You’ve got to find what you love. And that is as true for your work as it is for your lovers. Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do…. Don’t settle.”
Some people find themselves moving from one job to another. They interpret the idea of not settling as the obligation to find an activity that suits them and that is enjoyable to them. They move on, whenever what they do doesn’t feel enjoyable.
Others will have a different take. They’ll find themselves exploring the activity they are involved in until they find a perspective on that activity that allows them to understand what it is they like about their job. Or they’ll search for a perspective allowing them to figure out what it is that they can do within their activity that makes it an interesting activity to them.
How do you learn to love what you do?
