Right and wrong

A standard technique to polarize a conversation is to assume that wrong is the opposite of right. That is, to assume that something is wrong if it isn’t right.

What is forgotten in such situations is that the area within which this opposition exists is quite small.

There is a much larger area where something that isn’t right for oneself doesn’t need to lead to the assumption that it is wrong for everyone.

Not all of that is scientific, or rational, but some is.
