An expectation is a hope as to what the outcome will be.

The outcome is what happened.

And yet, the measure for performance most often will be defined by expectations.

That is, expectations they haven’t correlated with the existing circumstances, their ability on that day and circumstances, or the contributions others have to bring to fulfill these expectations.

It creates a gap between the emotional and the practical outcome.
