Electricity is one of the conveniences we are used to. So much, that we rarely plan for its absence.

When it’s missing things suddenly change.

Most of the plans need to be changed. If we even can implement any of them.

As I’m writing this, I’m reflecting on the plans I had for tonight. It’s dark outside. The power went off a short while ago and I don’t know if we’ll have it back until the end of the day. It’s freezing outside. The streetlights went off.

The laptop has some battery left, but it’s offline. The internet needs electricity too.

I’m using candles to have a bit of light beyond the laptop screen.

It’s a good moment to take the evening off.
